Laurie Allen is a West Texas playwright with nine books of plays and scenes published for young adults.  Her book titles include: Power Plays, Acting Duets for Young Women, Comedy Scenes for Student Actors and 62 Comedy Duet Scenes for Teens. Her timely collection of powerful monologues, Quaran-Teens: Dramatic Teen Perspectives On The Pandemic, was released in 2020 by Pioneer Drama Service.  Her ten-minute play, Go to the Light, winner of the Snowdance Comedy Play Festival, was published in The Best New Ten-Minute Plays 2021 by Applause Theatre & Cinema Books.  Laurie has plays published by Smith & Kraus, Brooklyn Publishers, Eldridge Publishers, Next Stage Press, Off the Wall Plays, and Original Works Publishing. Her plays have been produced at Barrington Stage Company, Lakeshore Players Theatre, Nylon Fusion Theatre Company, West Coast Players, Towne Street Theatre, The Actors Studio of Newburyport, Phoenix Stage Company, Image Theatre, Short & Sweet Dubai, Rover Dramawerks, Ridgefield Theatre Barn,  Mad Lab's Theatre Rooulette, Playwrights' Round Table, The Open Eye Theatre, and elsewhere. Laurie’s works span a wide spectrum of interests, from comedy to intense drama, with noted popularity for teens and young adults.  She is a member of the Dramatist Guild.
